We can’t control
The world. It’s impossible.
Recently 2 members of my family have been subject to extreme forces of nature
- My daughter caught in the deluge at the Burning Man Festival in California
- My husband’s riad in the Medina in Marrakech survived an earthquake
Both were unexpected. Both were salutary in the face of adversity.
- The “Burners” stepped up their community spirit to share resources with their neighbours
- The Moroccans speedily got on with repairing their homes and heritage in their own resourceful way
Without self pity.
Even if we can’t control seismic events
We can control how we think and feel about them
And everything around us.
Do we think
I’d better cancel my Marrakech booking. It looks dangerous from the media photos.
or
Lightning doesn’t strike twice in the same place. And I’ll be supporting the Moroccan people.
Do we live life based on fear and a glass half empty?
Or positivity and a glass half full?
Which would you do?
