Sleep Disturbance

Sleep is the bedrock of how we function. We need it for our body and mind to rest and recuperate. It’s not only the number of hours that we lie asleep, but the quality of that sleep which matters. Our physical body needs deep sleep for hormone regulation and our organs to rest, while the lighter REM (rapid eye movement) sleep serves as a filing system to help us make sense of the day’s events, and restore prespective. We need both to re-energise.

Hypnotherapy can be an effective treatment for Sleep disturbance.

Many people have a period of Sleep Disturbance at some point in their lives, perhaps triggered by some affecting event. Waking up in the morning is never fun after having had little rest. The limbs and mind feel heavy, and there is no joy at the prospect of another day. But usually, as circumstances improve, so does the sleep, and things quickly return to their proper proportion.

However, where people are in a default mode of anxiety, night time is when they are alone with their anxious thoughts. These can go round and round unresolved, and also be compounded by the worry of not sleeping.

With the help of hypnotherapy lowering anxiety levels, sleep patterns can be restored. Nights of good sleep are achieved through relaxing routines. Once achieved, you’ll find it so much easier to cope with whatever comes up in your life.
